Shrub Roses for Carolina Gardens

Compiled by by Mary Beth Martin

Earth-Kind Roses

Over the past 15 years, horticulturists at Texas A&M Agriculture Program have developed a collection of roses which are beautiful blooming shrubs in the landscape, yet are also low-maintenance. The roses on this list are well adapted for our subtropical Zone 8 climate and are tolerant of a variety of soils. For more information about the Earth-Kind project and its testing methods, please see the 2002 American Rose Annual.
