2008 ARS Carolina District Judges School
Information and Downloads

Periodically the District holds either a Horticulture or Arrangements Judging School or Seminar. In 2008 there will be a combined school on May 23-25 in Orangeburg, SC. Hosted by the Charleston Lowcountry Rose Society, the schools will be staged in the exhibit hall at the Edisto Gardens.

In addition to the opportunities offered by the schools, attendees will have the opportunity to view and stroll among thousands of roses in bloom, to take a peek at roses growing in the ARS and AOE test gardens, and to see the newly installed Noisette rose garden. The District is lucky indeed to this important event in such a lovely and inspiring setting!

These schools are open to all registrants and will be of interest to: current accredited arrangements and horticulture judges who are in need of recertification; current arrangements and horticulture accredited judges who wish to become aware of the latest judging information and changes; qualified students wishing to take the exam to become either an apprentice arrangements judge or an apprentice horticulture judge; rosarians who are interested in auditing the school with the idea of becoming a judge in the future; and exhibitors who want to learn more about judging to improve their exhibiting skills.

A packet containing restaurant, accommodation and tourist information along with a complete schedule of events will be mailed to all registrants.

Questions about registration should be sent to Pat Hibbard.

Questions about the schools should be directed to Paul Blankenship or Bill Patterson. Please note that students wishing to apply for either school should review the attached qualifications sheets, and then apply to the appropriate Chairman ASAP so their American Rose Society membership and other qualifications can be verified.

Also note that students will be required to pay an exam fee of $50 to the American Rose Society to take the exam. This fee should not be included with monies sent for registration but rather should be in the form of a check made out to the American Rose Society and attached to the student’s application form.

Attached please find forms for registration, school qualifications and school applications.
